Hiking: Shasta- Trinity Wilderness, CA: On the Lion Lake Trail

The weather was warm and dry, the noise of the insects were all around.

 

Little Bear is leading and checking to make sure I am following as we start on our morning hike from the camp area.  Our goal is to meet the trail workers building the trail. Placing rocks they make steps and switchbacks for people to enjoy without damaging the rest of the natural areas with no regard for the many living creatures that call this place home.  For, travelers to share, be and enjoy our wilderness now, and for future hikers.

I love the mountains. I love the feel of the open woods. I love the warmth of the sun and air. I love the coolness of the wind.
