Next stop is in Hillsboro, Oregon. This Tire Factory is the place I got my tires, air check, and oil changes, for the most part, over the last five years. Blazer ready.
The third check in is at Hangin' Frame shop where Lissa makes custom frames, for art and photographs. I pass on Handcrafteds' update on the event downtown, this Saturday, where I will be demonstrating on the spinning wheel.
Road Map of our drive: We continued on Cornelius Pass road up and over to Hwy 30. For a rest spot, port-a-potty and walk-about we pull off at Trojan park. There were geese. The Canadian geese held the land, and the white farm geese patrolled the waters of the lake. I did see disk Frisbee baskets in between the trees.
We traveled on the Columbia River highway over the Lewis and Clark bridge that connects Oregon and Washington State. We drove through Kelso, WA and turned north onto I-5.
One of our favorite pull offs is the Toutle River Safety Rest Area. The local volunteers offer coffee, hot chocolate, cookies and have a donation jar to help keep supplied. There are lots of information packets on the area attractions, and maps to see how far to your destination. I forgot mine in Oregon.
We note booked some interesting places to stop at on our next drive up along this route: The cowliz river and the mattress cow ranch store at exit 79.
Adult chinook Return Information: 2,600 Total.
